Just a short one, a shower thought really.
Nassim Nicholas Taleb is a woman.
He acts tough, he deadlifts, yadda yadda, but he’s all walk, no talk. Yeah, maybe shut up once in a while, tough guy, and tawk things through in a logical manner.
What’s the guy’s big deal? Black Swans.
You know who cares about Black Swan Events? Women.
Women hand-wring. They nag. They worry and fret. They get anxiety more than men. And so on.
Thus, thinking about Black Swan Events, by definition something so outside normal parameters that no one thinks about them, is womanly. To regulate your life around the Worst Case Scenario is to be a woman.
Men think about the best outcome and focus on it. Living under a patriarchy is to live in a world where your leaders say, ‘Hey, you know what, we’re going to make it. Just trust me and do as I do.’ A patriarchy is rule by the hopeful, the determined and the strong.
To live in a matriarchy is to live under the constant worry of outsiders, threats, devastation and failure. To live under the reign of the feminine is to live cushioned and coddled. Is that not how we live? Covid forced this on us. The 24-hour news cycle is reflective of women’s gossip and nattering. This infects the minds of men and creates leaders who lockdown and lockup. You worry line goes up so you inject yourselves with whatever they’ve pushed out, just in case. Your logic is just whatever you’ve been told to say (didn’t wives always just repeat their husbands opinions and politics? Funny that.) Why are so many men who act in the public sphere so womanly? Men tawk and women do make-work. Not all action is healthy. Tawk before you leap.
A final idea. ‘What if’ is entertained by women, ‘How’ by men. That’s also why women write shitty fiction.
Hell yeah.
Seems shallow, but surprisingly deep insight — few will properly appreciate.
